For my first essay I am choosing to write about animal cruelty. This commecial uses all of the rehetorical devices to convince and evoke emotion in the audience. Not only the sad pictures of the dogs and cats but also the music in the begining serve as the pathos of this commerical. As soon as the background music starts to play most people automatically feel bad for the animals and are more likely to do anything they can to help. The ethos of this commerical is the author or speaker of the video. Sarah McLachlan has a good reputation as a widely known pop singer. She also is deeply involved with the BCSPCA. The logos of this video is all the statistics of how many animals are abused or mistreated. At the end of the video Sarah is talking and encourages you to help by just paying 60 cents a day to save these animals. I think this topic will be easy to write about and is very well known.
